April 7, 2019 – Favored Inspector Lynley sped to a course-record victory in the $100,000 Danger’s Hour Stake at Aqueduct to increase his earnings to $690,299 (watch below). His victory also increased his Stakes win total to five and further enhanced the value of his stellar female family.
All of this is good news for Brushy Hill Equine who, on advice of Mike Recio’s Rockbridge Bloodstock, purchased Inspector Lynley’s dam for $140,000 at the 2017 Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale.
Criminologist was a multiple graded stakes winner for her renowned breeders, Stuart Janney & Phipps Stable. She is a fourth generation graded blacktype runner and Inspector Lynley is her fourth foal.
Inspector Lynley was already a multiple graded stakes winner prior to the Rockbridge/Brushy Hill purchase making Criminologist’s $140,000 price tag a tremendous value. The fact Criminolgist was pregnant with a full sibling to Inspector Lynley at the time makes the buy a real coup. That foal was sold by South Point at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton November sale for $125,000 to pinhooker Nick De Meric. The price represents the highest paid for a Lemon Drop Kid weanling in 2017.
Rockbridge Bloodstock also purchased the dam of another 2019 stakes winner, Glory Gold, dam of Busher Stakes winner & Kentucky Oaks contender Espresso Shot. Glory Gold was purchased for just $14,000 before her daughter emerged as one of the top sophomore fillies in New York.
