South Point-Sold Tapit Colt Scores in Debut

October 16, 2017 – Tap Rap Strike, a two-year-old son of leading sire Tapit, scored a debut victory at Parx on October 15.

The colt bided his time early in the one mile affair before launching a bid turning for home. He sustained that acceleration down the straight hitting the wire a half-length in front.

Trained by John Servis, Tap Rap Strike races for the partnership of DJ Stable LLC, the racing nom de plume of former Duke/NBA star Bobby Hurley and Cash Is King LLC of Afleet Alex fame. The colt was originally purchased from South Point Sales by leading pinhooker Nick de Meric at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling. De Meric later resold the colt for $875,000 at the OBS March Sale.
