Hyperfocus became the 50th worldwide winner for red-hot second-crop sire Constitution, who scored both of his top-level victories at Gulfstream Park for winning trainer Todd Pletcher.
Sent off at 5-2 in his career bow, the $100,000 purchase from South Point Sales raced off the fence in mid-pack as Breakthrough and Peppi dueled through a swift first quarter in :22.07. Aggressively ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr., the bay ranged up outside the top two turning for home. Breakthrough called it a day in the lane and Peppi put up a mild fight, but Hyperfocus swept past in the final sixteenth and kicked clear to score by 1 1/4 lengths flying the colors of Repole Stable.

Peppi held on for second and Breakthrough secured third.
The winner is the first foal out of Discreet Meating, a half-sister to Argentinian champion and dual G1SW Forty Greeta (Arg) and to GSW and New York-based sire Honorable Dillon.
The classy colt was bred by longtime South Point Sales friends & clients Mike & Jill Heitzmann. Agent Jacob West signed the $100,000 ticket at the 2019 Keeneland September yearling auction.
Hyperfocus is the 23rd winning South Point Sales graduate in 2020.
